Updated 25 October 2026. Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) closed at $1,238.03 on Friday 23 October, down 1.82 percent, after Thursday’s 8.5 percent drop, and was $1,239.32 after hours (StockAnalysis). Fiscal first-quarter 2027 results come on Thursday 29 October after the close, call at 1:30 pm PT, against a $44-$46 EPS guide and a consensus between $45.22 and $46.27 depending on the tally (Barchart, Yahoo Finance). Before Sandisk speaks, four read-throughs land: Seagate on Tuesday, SK hynix at 9 am Seoul time on Wednesday, and Samsung and Intel on Thursday. Verdict: Western Digital beat on every line on Wednesday and lost about 9 percent in two sessions, so the number Sandisk has to clear is the sector’s fear that memory pricing peaks here, not the EPS line. Options price a 7.7 to 13.7 percent move depending on the source. Reference levels: $1,090 below, $1,400 above.
Key facts
- Price: SNDK $1,238.03 at Friday’s close, down $22.90, after a $1,228.89 intraday low; $1,239.32 after hours at 7:59 pm ET (StockAnalysis). Thursday’s close was $1,260.93, down 8.5 percent in a sector-wide selloff. The stock is about 41 percent below its 52-week high of $2,354.39 (Barchart, StockAnalysis).
- The print: fiscal Q1 FY27 results on Thursday 29 October after the close, call at 1:30 pm PT (Sandisk IR). Guidance is non-GAAP EPS of $44.00-$46.00 on revenue of $10.3-$10.8 billion, against $1.22 and $2.3 billion a year earlier. Consensus EPS is $45.22 at Barchart, $46.06 at Public and $46.27 at Yahoo Finance on revenue near $10.68 billion. Sandisk has beaten consensus in each of the last four quarters, by 16.7 percent in June ($39.25 against $33.28), and the shares fell about 12 percent after hours that night anyway (Barchart, Seeking Alpha).
- Implied move: options price a 12.1 percent move either way, about $153 a share (TipRanks, 23 October); Investing.com’s model, using Bloomberg options data, says 7.7 percent; Earnings-Watcher had 13.7 percent as of 16 October against a ten-year average actual move of 13.3 percent. The actual move has exceeded the implied move in three of the last six reports (Earnings-Watcher).
- What Western Digital said: adjusted EPS of $4.64 against $4.08 expected, revenue of $4.38 billion, up 55 percent, gross margin of 58.1 percent and a December-quarter guide of $5.0-$5.2 billion and $5.60-$6.00 (Investing.com). The shares fell about 6.5 percent after hours on Wednesday and another 3 percent on Friday to $343.67 as management flagged rising DRAM and NAND input costs and capital spending above its long-run range. FinanceFeeds’ Saturday report reads the reaction as a verdict on the cycle, not the quarter.
- The contract book: Sandisk’s long-term agreements, which it calls NBMs, are expected to cover more than 50 percent of bits in fiscal 2027 and about two-thirds in fiscal 2028, and signed agreements represent at least $93.9 billion of revenue at minimum contractual pricing. Management guides to mid-to-high-teens annual revenue growth from fiscal 2028 to 2030, adjusted gross margins near 80 percent and free-cash-flow margins near 50 percent (Barchart, citing company disclosures).
- Valuation and the bear’s point: Barchart puts the stock at 7.1 times forward earnings with EPS expected to rise about 201 percent in fiscal 2027; Seeking Alpha’s Oakoff Investments has 5.18 times and sees more than 70 percent upside, but notes that the Q1 guide “signals some margin contraction” after a June quarter in which revenue rose 51 percent sequentially to $8.97 billion. Whether gross margin has peaked is the question every preview asks.
- Memory week: Seagate reports on Tuesday 27 October (Yardeni Research). SK hynix publishes third-quarter results before 9 am on Wednesday 28 October Seoul time, 8 pm Tuesday in New York, with a conference call at 9 am (SK hynix invitation); FnGuide consensus is operating profit of 76.96 trillion won, a figure Bernstein notes is 5.6 percent below the 81.51 trillion won consensus of three months ago (MoneyToday, BigGo Finance). Samsung’s full third quarter and Intel follow on Thursday. Counterpoint has SK hynix’s HBM share falling to 50 percent from 58 percent as Samsung rises to 33 percent.
- Analysts: TipRanks shows a Strong Buy consensus with an average target of $2,205.59 and a range of $1,550 to $3,000; Barchart’s average is $2,161.50, about 55 percent above Friday’s close. Citi has a Buy and $2,100, Mizuho reiterated a Buy and $2,050 (TipRanks). Saturday’s page listed Evercore at $3,100, Susquehanna $2,745, Wedbush $2,000 and BNP Paribas Exane $1,400, with Weiss Ratings at Hold since 14 October.
- Insiders: chief executive David Goeckeler sold 33,841 shares on 17 September at $1,574.21, about $53.3 million, under a pre-arranged plan; insiders sold $121.2 million of stock in the last 90 days (MarketBeat).
Four verdicts before Sandisk’s own
The week is a sequence, and Sandisk is last in it. Seagate on Tuesday is the closest comparable for the hard-drive side that Western Digital just reported, and if it echoes WDC’s input-cost complaint the market will hear it as NAND and DRAM suppliers taking the margin, which is Sandisk’s revenue line. SK hynix on Tuesday evening US time is the first NAND supplier with hard numbers; Meritz models about 17 trillion won of its quarter from NAND, and the tone on fourth-quarter contract pricing will set Sandisk’s opening on Wednesday. Samsung on Thursday morning Korea time is the swing producer in NAND and the one whose capacity decisions decide whether the shortage Sandisk describes, with supply “committed beyond calendar 2027”, survives 2027. Intel, also on Thursday, speaks to data-centre budgets. Saturday’s page framed the setup; by Thursday afternoon the stock will have traded all four before it prints.
The Western Digital lesson is specific. The beat was large, the guide was above consensus, and the stock fell because management said two things investors did not want to hear: component costs are rising faster than it can pass them on, and capex is going above the long-run range. For Sandisk the first point is good news in disguise, since Sandisk is the component, but the second is the risk. If Sandisk’s own capex guide rises to chase the NBM volumes, the market will read it as the start of the supply response that ends every memory upcycle. The Micron page covers the DRAM side of the same debate, where a Taiwanese union dispute over profit sharing is a reminder of how much profit there currently is to share.
What the print has to show
Three numbers decide Thursday. The first is gross margin against the June quarter: the guide implies some contraction, and a print that holds margin flat would answer the peak question for at least one more quarter. The second is the March-quarter guide, because a $44-$46 beat is expected and will be sold if the next quarter is merely in line, as June showed. The third is the share of revenue under NBM contracts, where any increase in the minimum contractual figure above $93.9 billion is the number the bulls want to quote. At 5-7 times forward earnings the stock is not priced for a miss; it is priced for the cycle to end in 2027, and the print either confirms or postpones that.
Sandisk into results: bull, base and bear
| Scenario | SNDK | What has to happen | Anchor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | $1,090 | SK hynix flags NAND price moderation on Tuesday evening, Seagate repeats the input-cost complaint, and Sandisk’s March-quarter guide lands inside consensus with a higher capex number. | About 12 percent below Friday’s $1,238.03, the downside of TipRanks’ 12.1 percent implied move; above the $1,000 low Street target. |
| Base | $1,150-$1,330 | The stock trades the memory tape through Wednesday, a beat on the September quarter is matched by an in-line guide, and the reaction stays inside the 8-14 percent options range. | Roughly Investing.com’s 7.7 percent implied move either side of Friday’s close. |
| Bull | $1,400 | SK hynix and Samsung confirm NAND pricing is still rising into 2027, Sandisk guides March above consensus, holds gross margin and raises the contracted-revenue figure. | The upside of Earnings-Watcher’s 13.7 percent implied move, about 13 percent above Friday’s close, and BNP Paribas Exane’s $1,400, the lowest recent bank target. |
The bear case sits below Friday’s price. These are reference levels measured from the verified quotes, not forecasts.

What to watch this week
- Tuesday after the close: Seagate’s results and any comment on component costs.
- Tuesday 8 pm ET: SK hynix’s third quarter against the 76.96 trillion won consensus, and its language on fourth-quarter NAND and DRAM contract prices.
- Wednesday 2 pm EDT: the Fed. Memory stocks fell hardest on Thursday’s rate-driven AI selloff; December-hike language matters for the multiple.
- Thursday morning Korea time: Samsung’s full results and its NAND capacity plans.
- Thursday after the close: Sandisk at 1:30 pm PT and Intel. The March-quarter guide, gross margin and the NBM contracted-revenue figure are the three numbers.
Quick take: Sandisk goes into its 29 October print at $1,238, 41 percent off its high, with a $44-$46 EPS guide that the Street expects it to beat and an options market pricing 8-14 percent either way. Western Digital showed a beat is not enough. Seagate, SK hynix, Samsung and Intel all report first and will set the tape. Rising NAND prices confirmed from Seoul plus a March guide above consensus open $1,400; price-moderation talk and a higher capex number open $1,090.
