Updated 26 October 2026. Sandisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) goes into Monday’s session at $1,238.03, Friday’s close, down 1.82 percent after Thursday’s 8.5 percent sector selloff, with $1,239.32 quoted after hours (StockAnalysis). Three sessions remain before fiscal Q1 FY27 results on Thursday 29 October after the close. Verdict: the Asian memory tape gave Sandisk a mildly positive lead on Monday. SK hynix rose as much as 2.6 percent in Seoul after halting the US listing of Solidigm, its NAND and SSD arm, and Japan’s Kioxia, Sandisk’s flash partner, gained about 1.2 percent in Tokyo. The risk came from Elon Musk, who said debt markets have “almost entirely shut off” money for AI-only data-centre operators. Reference levels: $1,090 below, $1,400 above.
Key facts
- Price: SNDK $1,238.03 at Friday 23 October’s close, down $22.90, after a $1,228.89 intraday low; $1,239.32 after hours at 7:59 pm ET (StockAnalysis). Volume was 7.9 million shares. The stock is about 47 percent below its 52-week high of $2,354.39; market value about $181 billion.
- The print: fiscal Q1 FY27 results on Thursday 29 October after the close, call at 1:30 pm PT (Sandisk IR). Guidance is non-GAAP EPS of $44-$46 on revenue of $10.3-$10.8 billion. Consensus EPS sits at or above the top of that range: $45.22 at Barchart, $46.11 at TipRanks and $46.22 at Admiral Markets, on revenue near $10.64 billion. A result that only matches guidance could read as a miss.
- Implied move: sources differ. TipRanks priced 12.1 percent either way as of 23 October; Investing.com’s model, using Bloomberg options data, 7.7 percent; Earnings-Watcher 13.7 percent as of 16 October. The range, roughly 8-14 percent, is the honest reading.
- Seoul on Monday: SK hynix opened 2.58 percent higher at 1,310,000 won and was up 1.02 percent at 1.29 million won by 1:20 pm; Samsung Electronics was down 0.35 percent at 214,750 won, and foreigners net sold 575.7 billion won of Kospi stocks (EDAILY, TradingKey). Shinhan Investment Securities’ Kang Jin-hyuk said “the market is awaiting major events” amid AI-related anxiety and inflation concerns.
- Solidigm: SK hynix said on Friday 23 October that Solidigm has discontinued its review of a US IPO, citing market volatility; South Korea’s financial regulator had warned the listing could clash with tightened dual-listing rules (Reuters, via The Star; SK hynix Newsroom). EDAILY tied SK hynix’s Monday resilience to the decision and to expectations of larger shareholder returns. Solidigm competes with Sandisk in enterprise SSDs.
- Tokyo: Kioxia, which runs joint flash fabs with Sandisk, rose 1.2 percent to 12,895 yen in early Monday trading (TradingKey).
- Musk’s warning: on Sunday Elon Musk said SpaceX had closed $40 billion of debt, “primarily callable debt for GPU purchases”, and that debt markets “have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company” without substantial revenue outside AI data centres; he predicted consolidation and failures among neoclouds such as CoreWeave and Nebius (Reuters, via Investing.com). EDAILY cited the comment as a drag on chip sentiment in Seoul.
- Analysts: StockAnalysis shows a Buy consensus from 25 analysts with an average target of $2,143.83, about 73 percent above Friday’s close. Recent targets include Mizuho $2,050, Citi $2,100, Goldman Sachs $2,200, Rosenblatt $2,400, Susquehanna $2,745 and Bernstein $3,000; BNP Paribas Exane’s $1,400 is the lowest recent bank target.
What the memory tape is pricing
Monday’s Asian session split the memory trade in two. SK hynix rose because a capital-structure question went away: the Solidigm listing that had weighed on the stock since late September is off, and investors read the decision as cash staying in the group and returning to shareholders. Samsung fell into its own Thursday results. Kioxia’s gain is the closest read on Sandisk’s own business, since the two share the flash fabs that produce Sandisk’s wafers. None of that is a verdict on NAND pricing; it is the market waiting, as Shinhan’s Kang put it, for the events.
The Musk comment is the week’s new risk for the multiple. Sandisk’s long-term contracts and its “committed beyond calendar 2027” supply language depend on AI data-centre buyers being able to keep spending. A warning from the largest private buyer of GPUs that lenders have closed the door on AI-only operators does not touch hyperscaler budgets directly, but it is the same worry that drove Thursday’s 8.5 percent fall. Sunday’s page set out the sequence of reports before Sandisk’s; Monday added a funding question to it.
Four verdicts before Sandisk’s own
Seagate reports on Tuesday 27 October, and if it repeats Western Digital’s complaint about rising DRAM and NAND input costs the market will hear Sandisk’s pricing power from the buyer’s side, as it did when Western Digital fell after its beat. SK hynix publishes before 9 am on Wednesday Seoul time, 8 pm Tuesday in New York, against FnGuide consensus of 76.96 trillion won of operating profit (MoneyToday); its NAND commentary sets Sandisk’s Wednesday opening. The Fed decides on Wednesday afternoon, and Samsung reports its full quarter on Thursday morning Korea time. Sandisk reports last, with all four already in the price. The Micron page covers the DRAM side of the same week.
Sandisk into results: bull, base and bear
| Scenario | SNDK | What has to happen | Anchor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bear | $1,090 | Musk’s funding warning spreads into AI-capex worries, SK hynix flags NAND price moderation, and Sandisk’s next-quarter guide lands inside consensus with higher capex. | About 12 percent below Friday’s $1,238.03, the downside of TipRanks’ 12.1 percent implied move. |
| Base | $1,150-$1,330 | The stock trades the memory tape through Wednesday, the September quarter beats and the guide is in line; the reaction stays inside the 8-14 percent options range. | Roughly Investing.com’s 7.7 percent implied move either side of Friday’s close. |
| Bull | $1,400 | SK hynix and Samsung confirm NAND prices still rising into 2027, and Sandisk guides above consensus while holding gross margin. | About 13 percent above Friday’s close, the upside of Earnings-Watcher’s 13.7 percent implied move, and BNP Paribas Exane’s target. |
The bear case sits below Friday’s close. These are reference levels measured from the verified quotes, not forecasts.
What to watch this week
- Monday: whether SNDK follows Kioxia and SK hynix higher or the Musk funding comment weighs on AI-hardware names.
- Tuesday after the close: Seagate’s results and its comments on component costs.
- Tuesday 8 pm ET: SK hynix’s quarter against the 76.96 trillion won consensus and its NAND pricing outlook.
- Wednesday 2 pm EDT: the Fed; December-hike language matters for richly valued AI hardware.
- Thursday after the close: Sandisk’s results, gross margin against the June quarter and the next-quarter guide.
Quick take: Sandisk starts the results week at $1,238 with a mildly positive Asian lead, as SK hynix and Kioxia rose after the Solidigm IPO was shelved. Musk’s warning on AI-operator funding is the new risk. Options price an 8-14 percent move on Thursday. A guide above consensus opens $1,400; NAND caution from Seoul and an in-line guide open $1,090.
