Robinhood Markets (HOOD): $116.22 at the close on Tuesday 29 September (Yahoo Finance historical data), after a session range of $114.93 to $119.19. Shares rose more than 2% in overnight trading after the HOOD Summit keynote (Stocktwits).
Verdict: The summit was a product event, not a numbers event. Robinhood Agents, crypto perpetual futures, Cboe earnings contracts and planned weekend stock trading all widen what an active trader can do on the app, but most of them are “coming soon” and none shows up in revenue before 2027. The stock sits about 24% below its 52-week high of $153.86 and above its 50-day average of $105.03 (MarketBeat). The analyst consensus of $133 is the base case; a return to the 50-day average is the bear case.
Key facts
- HOOD Summit ’26, Houston, 29 September. Robinhood announced Robinhood Agents, Agent Apps, 24/7 weekend equities trading, perpetual futures, earnings contracts, Robinhood Social and a set of trading tools (Robinhood newsroom, 29 September).
- AI agents. Customers can build agents on OpenAI or Anthropic models that research markets, build watchlists and trade stocks, options and crypto. Each trade needs manual approval by default, agents cannot use margin at launch, and funds sit in a dedicated agentic account. More than 150,000 agentic accounts have been created since Robinhood opened its infrastructure to outside AI agents earlier this year (CoinDesk).
- Perpetual futures. BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK and HYPE perps for eligible US customers “in the coming months”, at up to 10x leverage on BTC and ETH and 3x on the rest, through Robinhood Derivatives and Bitstamp, with a 1 basis point fee through year-end (Robinhood newsroom).
- Weekend stock trading. A curated list of US stocks and ETFs on Saturdays and Sundays via the Bruce ATS, extending the current Sunday 8pm to Friday 8pm ET 24-hour market. Status: “coming soon, pending regulatory review” (Robinhood newsroom).
- Earnings contracts. Binary contracts through Cboe on company metrics such as revenue and EPS beats, rolling out “in the coming weeks” with no fees through year-end; options approval required (Robinhood newsroom).
- Analyst move on the day. BTIG’s Andrew Harte kept a Buy rating and raised his target to $135 from $125 on 29 September, citing record quarter-to-date trading volumes through 24 September (Investing.com, MarketBeat).
- Consensus. Moderate Buy with an average target of $133.00; 52-week range $63.51 to $153.86; market value about $104.7 billion (MarketBeat, 29 September).
What Robinhood actually announced, and when it arrives
The summit had a clear theme. Abhishek Fatehpuria, Robinhood’s vice president of product management, told CoinDesk that one of the company’s top priorities is “to be number one for active traders”, and summed up the plan as “more assets, and then more hours”. The list of launches matches that, but the timetable matters more for the stock than the list does.
| Product | Timing (per Robinhood) | Revenue angle |
|---|---|---|
| Robinhood Social | Live now for eligible US customers | Engagement, indirect |
| Extended options hours (7:30am to 4:15pm ET), OCO orders for equities | October | More options volume |
| Earnings contracts (Cboe) | Coming weeks; no fees through year-end | Event-contract volume, fees from 2027 |
| Robinhood Agents and Agent Apps ($5 to $30 a month) | Coming soon | Subscriptions plus trading activity |
| Crypto perpetual futures | Coming months; 1bp fee through year-end | Crypto derivatives volume |
| 24/7 weekend equities | Pending regulatory review | More trading hours |
Two points stand out. The products with the clearest revenue link, perps and earnings contracts, both launch with promotional pricing that runs to year-end, so the fourth quarter gets the volume without much of the fee. And weekend trading depends on a regulator, so it is an option on the future rather than a line in anyone’s 2026 model. The race for round-the-clock US stock trading is crowded: FinanceFeeds has covered why Robinhood, Kraken and Coinbase are all competing to list tokenized stocks in America and OG.com’s request for CFTC approval of 24/5 stock perps.
Why the stock barely moved
HOOD closed Tuesday at $116.22, down slightly from $116.46 on Monday and $122.70 a week earlier (Yahoo Finance). The summit came after the regular session closed, so Tuesday’s close does not reflect it; the reaction so far is the overnight gain of about 2% reported by Stocktwits. Wednesday’s regular session is the first real test.
The muted response makes sense. Investors already expected Robinhood to keep adding products, and the stock has run hard: BTIG’s note puts the six-month return at about 76% (Investing.com). What the market is paying for is volume, and on that the data were already strong before the summit. In its 29 September note BTIG said that, through 24 September, crypto volume was tracking at its strongest level since February and 25% ahead of consensus, options contracts were running 11% above consensus, and event contracts were heading for about 5.5 billion, up 17% month on month. BTIG raised its 2026 EPS estimate to $2.21 from $2.04.
The August operating data point the same way. Funded customers reached 28.6 million, platform assets were $384 billion (up 26% year on year) and equity notional volume was $335 billion, up 68% year on year (Robinhood August 2026 operating data, 10 September). By contrast, July’s crypto numbers had fallen, as we reported in Robinhood’s July crypto volume decline, which is why the September crypto rebound matters for the third quarter.
Scenario table: bull, base and bear
| Scenario | Price | vs $116.22 | Anchor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bull | $160 | +38% | Bernstein’s Outperform target, maintained 8 September (MarketBeat); above the $153.86 52-week high |
| Base | $133 | +14% | Analyst consensus average (MarketBeat); BTIG’s new $135 sits alongside it |
| Bear | $105 | -10% | 50-day moving average, $105.03 (MarketBeat) |
Targets and levels are those published by the named sources, not FinanceFeeds forecasts. The Street-high target is $170 (Investing.com). Our longer-running Robinhood stock bull and bear case sets out the business-level drivers behind these numbers.
What gets HOOD to $160
The third quarter has to confirm what the September volume data suggest: crypto and options beating consensus, and event contracts still growing month on month. After that, investors would need evidence that the summit products add activity rather than moving it between products, for example early earnings-contract volume through Cboe and a clear timetable for weekend trading. A break above the $126 area, where the stock topped in late September (Yahoo Finance history shows a $126.74 high on 23 September), would be the first technical sign.
What sends it back to $105
A weaker crypto tape into October, a regulatory delay on weekend trading or perps, or a broader sell-off in high-multiple stocks. At a P/E of about 51 (MarketBeat), HOOD is priced for growth, and the promotional fee waivers mean new products add cost before they add revenue. Leverage products for retail customers also carry a reputational and regulatory risk if losses make headlines.
Quick Take
HOOD Summit ’26 gave Robinhood a longer product runway: AI agents, 10x crypto perps, Cboe earnings contracts and a plan for weekend stock trading. The stock at $116.22 already assumes the company keeps shipping. The numbers that move it in the next month are the third-quarter volumes, where BTIG’s data are strong, rather than the launches, most of which are months away. Consensus sits at $133 and the 50-day average at $105.
